Our client, a VERY stable manufacturing company is hiring for a Sr. Cost Accountant. This critical Sr. Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost, margin analysis and maintaining fixed assets. Major responsibilities:
- Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost
- Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
- Ensures inventory is properly valued and all transactional inventory movement are accurately and timely recorded to produce reliable financial statements
- Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including journal entries and reconciliations
- Manage all fixed asset process, ensuring company assets are capitalized timely, classified properly, depreciated accurately and disposed/retired correctly
- Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
- Performs weekly recording of manufacturing entries for product costing
- Support audits and general ledger preparation
- Maintain the cycle count program and take physical inventory
- Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
