Sr. Revenue Accountant
A client of ours is looking for a Sr. Revenue Accountant for a contract role. As the Sr. Revenue Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing high volumes of data (transactional revenue data) to provide variance explanations and to create the underlying support for certain monthly journals.
Responsibilities of Sr. Revenue Accountant
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current processes and recommending changes.
- Analyze revenue and cost variances, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Manage revenue and cost control, working knowledge of contract billing terms and schedules
- Prepares monthly revenue journal entries ranging from analyzing automated JE’s on a consolidated level for reasonableness and gathering the data/support needed for manual journal entries.
- Assist in year-end audit for revenue
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Sr. Revenue Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 3 years’ of project-based accounting experience; strong understanding of revenue/cost recognition
- Experience with ERP systems preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analyzing large data sets
- Ability to operate in a detail oriented and “hands-on” environment
- Knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting and account reconciliations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet tight month end deadlines.
