What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Robert Half?
Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
- Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
- Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
- 1 years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
