Position Summary: We are currently seeking a Technical Writer for the creation and ongoing maintenance of a wide variety of technical documentation. Our equipment needing documentation ranges from individual stand-alone, manual pieces of equipment to semi-automatic and fully automatic blasting and dry ice making equipment. The concepts that need to be communicated are technically complex and the Technical Writer must make sure the intended audience understands and comprehends them. This person will report directly to Engineering and will work with a wide variety of departments including Customer Service, Operations, Marketing, Sales, IT and will interact with external organizations such as translation services.
Position Responsibilities: To create and maintain Operator's Manuals, Engineering and Technical Service Bulletins (for both internal and external customers worldwide), Troubleshooting Guides and Software/Firmware documentation. Attention to document details such as its purpose, arrangement, layout, clarity, and conciseness are all important features the Technical Writer will be responsible for.
Requirements:
• Has strong writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex technical information in a format that is easy to read and understand.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks Composer and PDM is highly desirable.
• Able to develop and create images, digital illustrations, diagrams, charts, and graphs that increase the user's understanding of the content and maintain our company's brand identity
• Knowledge of applicable manual's standards such as CE, UL and OSHA are very helpful
• Work with legacy documents and bring them up to a current standard
• Manage multiple documentation projects
