Roberts Oxygen a leading distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment has the position for you. We are actively seeking a dedicated and committed Human Resources Specialist for our Rockville, MD location.

The ideal candidate will have previous job experience providing human resource support in a company with multi-state locations and a customer service driven culture. The HR Specialist will provide support to managers and employees to drive programs and processes aimed at improving company and individual performance. The HR Specialist serves as an advisor in the areas of talent management, employee development, workers compensation, leave of absence programs, employee training and performance enhancement practices, and policy interpretation and compliance. This position will be expected to collaborate, coach, counsel, and support efforts to improve performance, foster retention, and promote a positive company culture.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in HR with a working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines or Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of human resources job-related experience.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Experience supporting employees in multiple locations across multiple states.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate. Strong written communication and presentation skills.
- Initiative driven and self-starter.
- Strong collaboration and partnerships skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking for use in finding root cause and recommend solutions.
- Direct experience coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Direct experience with investigations, progressive improvement, and disciplinary actions.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellent in employee management and internal customer service.
- Ability to prioritize work and be flexible and adaptable to manage competing priorities.
- Solid to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Excel.
- Experience using HRIS systems; must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies as needed.
