Administrative Assistant to the Director of Human Resources (HR)

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (hourly)
WORK YEAR: 260 days (12-month employee)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal and DCFS background check
- Preferred 1-2 years HR or equivalent experience handling confidential and sensitive information
Special Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:
- Previous experience with HR practices and principles
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suites and Google, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Drive and gmail
- Working knowledge of applicable local, State and federal laws
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Understand and solve problems within limits of own authority
- Work under tight deadlines and maintain accuracy of work
- Keep track of multiple projects simultaneously while managing multiple interruptions and still completing projects or work assignments on time
- Ability to work independently and perform tasks assigned with minimal supervision
- Operation of computer, technology, and assigned software
- Conducts self in an ethical manner
