We are searching for an experienced Manufacturing Co-op at our Newburyport, MA - Bld 16 location.
Co-op Description
The Rochester Electronics & Whittier Tech Co-op is intended to give the student real world skills and work experience by working in a state of the art electronics manufacturing facility. This will be accomplished by a combination of mentor led demonstration and independent hands-on experience.
The student will also be introduced to a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment while also being exposed to interdepartmental dynamics by attending project update meetings, daily huddles, and other presentations.
Co-op Objectives
As a result of completing the co-op the student will gain an understanding of:
Rochester safety protocols and procedures
The semiconductor assembly operations, ESS operations, and Test operations process flows
Unscheduled equipment repair activities and documentation
Basic troubleshooting techniques
Preventative maintenance and calibration procedures and documentation
Cleanroom and production area protocols
The use of various test instruments and meters
Soldering and disordering basics
Specification writing
Basics of equipment pneumatics and hydraulics
3D printing
Basic understanding of machine tool mills and lathes
ESD fundamentals
Department roles ( Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality)
The fundamentals and application of a 6S program
Written and verbal communication skills
Assist with in-house projects
