Job Description: Used Vehicle Buyer
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Used Vehicle Buyer to join our team to purchase vehicles for our companies 11 locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing scrap/junk used vehicles from various sources, evaluating their condition, and negotiating prices to ensure maximum profitability for the company.
Responsibilities:
- Identify potential sources of used vehicles, including auctions, private sellers, tow companies and dealerships
- Inspect vehicles to determine their condition and value
- Negotiate prices with sellers to ensure maximum profitability for the company
- Coordinate transportation of purchased vehicles to the scrap yard
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases and sales
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and pricing
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a salesman/buyer.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the automotive industry and market trends
- Ability to evaluate the condition and value of vehicles
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Mileage allowance.
