What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Flow Manager position at Rochester Public Schools?
SUMMARY:
Manages all aspects of material flow within the facility. Provides leadership and guidance to Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling functions of the business. Ensures accurate inventory levels and transactions throughout the facility. Leads the team with continuous improvement to provide consistent on-time delivery of products/processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, develop, train, and lead the Materials operations to deliver The Right Material, to The Right Place, at The Right Time.
- Eliminate loss of production down time due to internal material flow.
- Manage all aspects of material flow to maintain control and accuracy over all inventories – Including Transactions (Oracle), Warehouse, Receiving, & Shipping.
- Lead accurate and timely cycle counts and root cause processes and procedures
- Support creation of materials performance goals and KPIs to provide sufficient inventory to feed production demand and drive continuous improvement.
- Define process improvements to optimize the materials organization
- Optimize floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment.
- Collaborate with Operations & Engineering to optimize product flow.
- Collaborate with Planning & Operations teams to manage pallet holdings to optimize storage.
- Drive and Lead Safety & 5S Process to ensure goals are met.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Five years of experience in materials position preferred
- Leadership Experience
WORKING CONDITIONS/OTHER:
- Day Shift Monday-Friday
- Less than 5% Travel
- Manufacturing environment
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law, compliance, trends, new technologies and best practices in areas of responsibilities.
