    Hybrid Work Details: The Web Developer will be required to work on-campus a minimum of one day per month, however, they are welcome to work on-campus as frequently as desired. The selected candidate may be required on campus additional days per month for special projects, meetings, and professional development opportunities. The selected candidate will be responsible for costs associated with travel to and from campus for in-person work, the same as all full-time campus employees, regardless of whether or not they are located within or outside the Greater Rockford Area. The selected candidate must reside and work within the United States of America – RVC will not consider international work arrangements. Specific details and expectations will be further discussed with the selected candidate.

    Reporting Relationships

    Reports to: Enterprise Systems Manager
    Supervision Exercised: Supervision may be exercised over student workers and interns.

    Job Summary:
    Support and improve business processes through the development and support of web applications.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Create and maintain web applications and user interfaces.
    • Consult with various departments on how to effectively present their information on the intranet.
    • Collaborate with various departments to design and develop internal or public web applications that solve business problems/needs.
    • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to develop customizations to the public website to add additional features as needed.
    • Manage and maintain the DevOps environment (version control and build/test environment).
    • Develops and maintains design, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation.
    • Works across various platforms that integrate with the College’s ERP systems and understands the governance, security, and integration development.
    • Serves as the primary or secondary business partner and programming support for one or more of these technologies/systems:
      • Web application development (primary support)
      • Content Management (primary support)
      • ERP/SIS (secondary support)
      • Reporting/Data Analytics (secondary support)
      • Document Imaging (secondary support)
    • Researches and keeps well-informed on rapid development tools and emerging technologies.
    • Maintains continuous professional growth and development through a series of actions, including reading technical, professional, and marketing literature, attending workshops, seminars, and demonstrations, collaborating with vendors, manufacturers, and colleagues, and engaging in hands-on experiences with a variety of technologies.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager, Enterprise Systems.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline or Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline and 5 years of experience required, in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Other relevant experience will also be considered.
    • Successful applicants will have 3-4 years of experience in at least some of the technologies below, or other relevant technologies:Web-based tools such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP.NET, C#, Node-RED, Docker, SQL, Visual Basic, SharePoint, GitHub, ColdFusion
    • Skills in API development, specifically for web use
    • Experience working in an educational setting is preferred but not required

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
