Business Development Manager

Rock West Solutions, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager.

Rock West Solutions, Inc. in Santa Barbara is a contract engineering firm focused on sensors and signal processing product development and performance improvement. This position is located in our Santa Barbara location and reports to the General Manager.

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business in a variety of industries including Electro-Optic, Acoustic, and Radiation sensors, as well as signal processing and data analytics for those sensors and systems.

Essential Functions:

• Identify and engage key clients in a variety of industries; Aerospace, Defense, Industrial, Commercial, Startup, etc.
• Develop a growth plan for assigned key accounts that identifies the programs we are targeting
• Exceed annual sales targets via traditional and nontraditional sales methods
• Develop and organize new business development initiatives, improve market share, implement pricing strategies, control expenses, and deliver technical services.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, prospects, suppliers, and internal teams to advance strategic sales growth plans.
• Act as a liaison with Rock West teams, providing feedback about customer needs
• Provide leadership to ensure all new innovations /intellectual property is protected
• Manage customer qualification process; managing transition in sales process from project conception, technical validation, mass production.
• Follow up on leads generated by our website
• Travel to visit customers, attend trade shows, etc.

Non- Essential Functions:

• Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• BS or BA degree in engineering or technical major
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sensors and/or aerospace sales
• Experience of establishing budgets and/or tracking expenditures and profit
• Experience in communicating with customers
