BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE:
The EH&S Technician supports Specialists and the overall EH&S Department in satisfying EHS regulatory requirements for the company. In this role you will assist with the application of matters of compliance with federal, state and local EH&S laws and regulations (including internal requirements).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Document all responsible activities as required by Local, State and Federal law and internal company practices.
• Assist EH&S Specialists with the implementation and enforcement of the company’s safety policies.
• Assist EHS team by responding to and assessing employee concerns.
• Support EHS Specialists in identifying hazards for high risk activities, assessing the risks, and completing risk assessment reports.
• Support EHS Specialists in evaluating new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability and outcome of hazards.
• Assist with Incident Investigations.
• Assist in the evaluation of equipment, tasks, processes, workstations, office and manufacturing environment to identify EH&S or ergonomic issues.
• Complete necessary tasks to attain certifications necessary to complete job requirements:
** FIT test, training & safety certifications, PPE certifications, etc
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• May assist in conducting analyses and preparing technical reports.
• May carry out EHS inspections and make recommendations as appropriate for improvement of safety, health and environment.
• May assist with EHS tours, audits, & surveys to document compliance status.
• May assist with updating policies, procedures, documents and forms.
• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• HS Diploma / GED and 1- 3 years of relative experience.
• Associate’s Degree in a related field of study is preferred.
• Combination of relative education and experience will be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
