As the head of ecommerce and marketing, you will lead a talented team of thirty-five professionals to leverage state-of-the-art technologies, vendors, and strategies to fuel our continued growth in customers, revenues and profits.

This position leads the Ecommerce Business Unit as well as marketing strategy and execution for the entire company. You are responsible for driving traffic, customer acquisition, conversion, and retention across all channels. As a key member of the executive team, you will lead strategic planning and executive communications. You will develop and implement strategies, team structure, policies, and financial goals.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Business Unit Leader - Lead the Ecommerce Business Unit as an entrepreneur, developing the strategy and executing the tactical plans to drive sales and profit growth for the division. Create and manage the financial plan for the business to drive to business goals.
Brand Building - Steward and champion of the Rockler brand and everything that contributes to it. Ensures graphic designs, communications, customer experience standards, product presentation standards, marketing, and advertising approaches all deepen and improve customer connection and love of the brand.
Customer Acquisition - Builds brand/store awareness, consideration, and conversion of new audiences to customers. Leverages strong understanding of the marketing funnel, along with marketing tools and approaches to build first-party audiences, retargeting programs, and conversion optimization tactics that fuel new customer growth. Uses attribution modeling, customer lifetime value, creative, messaging, offers, ad types and spending to optimize return on marketing investments. Leverages social media, influencer relationships and content creation to expand reach.
Customer Retention - Drives repeat purchases by optimizing contact strategies, personalization, promotions, and targeting. Leverages catalogs, direct mail, email, sms, store events, remarketing, and other channels to drive customers to stores, website and contact center. Uses customer data platform, analytics, and modeling to understand and improve retention rates. Ability to define, build and manage a loyalty program.
Ecommerce Experience - Responsible for the operation and optimization of company websites, ecommerce platforms and related vendor network. Improves conversion rates, average order values and omni-channel engagement. Leads initiatives around search engine optimization, site merchandising, site search, product recommendations, user generated content, user experience, a/b testing, web development roadmap, site speed, product feeds, and third-party marketplaces.
Product Marketing - Collaborates with merchandising department to promote merchandise and launch products in an integrated way across all channels. Optimizes promotion plans, aligning with the VP of Merchandising on high-level promotion strategies and targets. Incorporates product vendor partnership opportunities to maximize coop funds. Works with merchants and product development to launch new products, including package design, image, video and copy production, store, web and catalog presentations, social media, PR and advertising approach. Supports merchant-driven assortment changes and presentation improvements in all channels.
Content Marketing - Leads efforts to inspire and educate woodworkers of all skill levels through how-to videos, articles, demonstrations, classes, and project plans. P&L responsibility for Woodworker's Journal magazine. Ensures editorial calendar and content align with Rockler marketing needs.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
- Previous P&L responsibility for a company or division.
- 5 years executive-level leadership of the marketing function of a multi-channel retailer.
- 10 years marketing experience in digital, ecommerce and/or direct marketing.
- Experience developing marketing and business strategies that drove significant business growth.
