The Maintenance Technician will provide for the upkeep of facilities buildings and grounds as well as related equipment, machinery and utility systems to insure regulatory compliance with minimal down time.

Major Areas of Accountability:
- Analyzes equipment failures, identifies causes and takes proper corrective action.
- Sets, performs and coordinates preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, plumbing, heating and electrical utilities as necessary.
- Performs and coordinates response to non-scheduled facility maintenance needs and requests.
- Sets a schedule of required code and safety inspections.
- Maintains all records of maintenance schedule dates and effectiveness, annual inspections, services and repairs.
- Directs activities of internal and contracted staff when required assuring contractors are following internal safety guidelines and government regulations to control liabilities.
- Insures compliance with city regulations, OSHA, and other relevant legislation
- Sets, performs and coordinates ground keeping maintenance schedules.
- Makes recommendations regarding contracts (project and annual) and planned activities for facility and grounds maintenance, including future upgrades, to meet Rockler's needs and budget constraints.
- Inspects facility for safety hazards and deficiencies
- Prepares and issues emergency maintenance instructions, performing and coordinating emergency services as required or directed by management.
- Performs other duties as required or requested.
- Performs warehouse duties during peak time, forklift driving included.
Requirements for Position:
- Requires working weekends (Pay differential offered)
- Two years of general maintenance experience or any equivalent combination of experience, training and or education.
- Thorough knowledge of plans and blue print reading.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Basic working knowledge (one year hands-on or equivalent) of mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment.
- Skill in diagnosing problems in basic mechanical equipment
- Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to maintain D.O.T. Commercial Driver Fitness Determination a plus.
- Ability to operate and understand basic alarm systems and program them.
- Ability to safely and correctly push/pull or at times lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to be on feet - standing, walking for long periods of time.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and equipment.
- Ability to climb steep stairs and ladders.
- Previous knowledge of safety requirements when working around electrical, gas, water, and sewer systems.
- Woodworking/Carpentry experience a plus.
- Forklift experience desired.
