POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Social Services Coordinator
FLSA: Exempt Professional
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 11-month employee based on board approved academic calendar
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree or higher in field associated with social services
- School counseling experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in mediation, relationship building, and conflict resolution
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee McKinney Veto program
- Counsel small groups and individual scholars with identified needs
- Consult with teachers, scholars, and parents regarding the developmental needs of scholars
- Refer scholars to appropriate community resources in consultation with their parents
- Support the overall district's educational program through general consultation activities and committee work
- Develop relationships with scholars and families to assist with the Social and Emotional Learning strategies
- Oversee program that addresses migrant families
- Oversee program that addresses the needs of military families
- Participate as a member of the Title IX team
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend all meetings and training sessions as directed
- Assist with the implementation of programs to assist families during crisis situations
- Duties as assigned by the Superintendent
