We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Breakdown Manager to join our team at RMTC. As the Breakdown Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing our department, while upholding our core values of Customer Service, Profitability, and Accountability. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of breakdown coordinators and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze the department and operations to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Manage the payroll budget and ensure adherence to it.
- Control and manage inventory effectively.
- Ensure 24/7 coverage of the Breakdown department, including holidays, for technicians and coordinators.
- Update and maintain the "on-call" schedule for technicians in coordination with the Operations Manager.
- Assess equipment needs and make recommendations for repairs or new equipment.
- Establish and maintain vehicle DOT, state, and Federal licensing and permitting requirements.
- Maintain driver DOT files as required by DOT regulations.
- Conduct periodic invoice auditing and report the results to the Operations Manager.
- Perform quarterly reviews of breakdown performance and 90-day performance reviews for all staff.
- Collaborate with Branch Managers to improve and streamline department performance across all locations.
- Enforce company policies related to parts purchasing, RO creation, and process adherence.
- Utilize enterprise tools to ensure company profitability and verify staff compliance.
- Generate daily reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) using provided tools and Google Analytics.
- Ensure that all breakdown invoices clearly outline the 3 C's (Complaint, Cause, and Correction) in detail.
- Ensure breakdown coordinators deliver exceptional customer service, with a smile, courtesy, respect, and a sense of urgency.
- Implement a consistent directive for all incoming and outgoing phone calls.
- Monitor and utilize incoming and outgoing calls for training purposes in biweekly training sessions.
- Take prompt action to maintain service vehicles upon notification of required maintenance or issues from fleet management.
- Develop professional relationships with key account customers and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar management role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills & proven success in management role
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using enterprise tools and Google Analytics.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and cover open shifts as needed.
