JOB OVERVIEW:
The Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The DA will provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.
REPORTS TO: Office Leader
SCHEDULE: This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as business requires – including evenings and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active CPR and AED training
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
- Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Focusing on Patient Safety and Team Safety as priority one
- Adhering to OSHA and Infection Control Protocols, and disposing of sharps and clinical waste in a prompt and safe manner
- Maintaining digital patient artifacts such as health history, insurance eligibility, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, lab requests, procedures, and appointment details
- Educating patients and parents on the benefits of good oral health
- Monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being during the entire visit
- Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
- Ensuring that exam rooms and operatories are cleaned, disinfected, organized, and stocked according to the required standards at the beginning and end of each patient interaction
- Charting existing treatment for new patients by updating the patient chart with entries for fillings, crowns, sealants, etc.
- Reviewing the patient chart and health history prior to the doctor arrival and reconfirming the patient's chief concern
- Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
- Helping the Rodeo Team clean surfaces, sinks, floors and common areas of exam rooms, operatories, reception, break rooms, restrooms, etc.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs

Salary : $34,000 - $43,100
