Position:

Purpose:
- As an Engineer, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding product quality standards, guest service standards, and overall profitability.
Scope:
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools, rooms, and equipment. Respond and attend to guest repair requests with superior hospitality. Utilize all tools in inventory to effectively complete tasks assigned promptly. Fill the role of Shuttle Driver (if applicable). Communicate with Managers and front line employees to resolve maintenance issues. Complete appropriate safety training and certifications and work with the manager to develop a career path. Recognize and celebrate the successes of the team and give back to the community we serve.

Responsibilities:
- Keep maintenance inventory, parts, and supplies secure at all times.
- Operate within budgetary confines and with an eye toward savings and creative solutions; while maintaining first-class conditions - always.
- Ensure proper usage of the Gas Credit Card and turn in receipts in a timely fashion.
- Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and report them to management and security/safety personnel because we operate with a sense of urgency and discipline.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools, rooms, and equipment to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Complete all projects and assignments left for you promptly.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address guests’ service needs because we deliver superior customer service and quality every day.
- Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
- Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional, and in compliance with company policy.
- Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property specific processes to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.
- Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
- Exchange information with other employees using electronic devices (e.g., pagers and two-way radios, email)
- Follow established safety protocols for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
- Follow all traffic laws (if the hotel has a shuttle)
- Look out for the hotel's interest at all times; ensuring that hotel services are used by registered guests only, and reporting suspicious activity immediately
- Seek out opportunities to invest resources in the communities we serve by looking for local projects and initiatives
- Participate when opportunities arise to volunteer on community projects that our company supports as we invest resources in the communities we serve
- Attend daily team meetings to have the most up to date information about the guests, staff members, and hotel
- Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets by company policies and procedures.
- Report work-related accidents or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor because we keep our word and do what is right.
- Follow property specific procedures for handling emergencies (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
- Know the location of all critical facility equipment and be able to identify shut-offs, utilizing lockout tag out.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any electrical maintenance work.
- Maintain exterior of the building in like-new condition, including façade and landscaping. Maintain parking lot and driveways free of debris, snow and ice.
- Take necessary steps to ensure that all Out of Order Rooms are back in the rentable condition in as short a time possible.
- Ensure the facility is guest-ready so we can maximize revenue as we are a performance-driven company that excels at meeting our objectives.
- When appropriate, promote the hotel’s Food and Beverage and Catering Outlets.
- Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
- Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information.
- Attend departmental meetings
- Listen to and act on your manager’s feedback regarding your performance; ask relevant questions, and seek training opportunities as needed as we succeed through professional development and teamwork.

- It is your responsibility to ensure that all receipts are turned in for processing, including cash/charge receipts as well as invoices.
- You will be responsible for maintaining your timecard by correctly punching in at the start of your shift, out & in for lunch and out after the day because we keep our word and do what is right.
Education/Experience:
- At least two years of related work experience and supervisory experience is required
- 1-2 years in a customer service environment
Skills:
- Ability to read and write in English
- Have the ability to read and interpret written procedures and communicate those in a manner easily understood by your team.
- Have the ability to effectively deliver all required information to superiors, coworkers, and subordinates.
- Must have the ability to follow directions, capable of working in a fast-paced work environment and perform under stressful situations
- Availability to work varied shifts, according to the needs of the hotel. This includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must have a comfort level working on a computer
- Will be required to learn the hotels Electronic Maintenance System
- Must have and maintain a Valid, Clean, NYS Driver License
- Brand training, as needed
