Purpose:
Scope:
The Sales Associate is responsible for all aspects of the Retail Store operations. This includes assistance to Customers and checkout purchases, handling all payments accordingly, inventory, display setup and providing above and beyond guest service.
Reports to:
Retail Manager
Responsibilities:
Adhere to all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
Properly communicate with all team members and managers.
Maintain confidentiality and security of hotel guests.
Process all customer purchases in adherence to hotel requirements.
Collect payment for all purchases and process them accordingly.
Maintain all guest requests, complaints, or problems and notify the department manager for resolving the situation. Follow up within minutes to ensure completion and guest satisfaction.
Handle guest requests for special requests according to hotel procedures.
Maintain communication within all departments including Sales, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Spa, Front Desk and the Food and Beverage Operation.
Maintain complete knowledge of hotel services, promotions and any scheduled daily group activities.
Monthly Inventory
Theft Control
Cross train for front desk representative and Spa desk.
Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of daily transactions, deposits, and sales reports
Adhere to all cashiering procedures.
Answer department telephone within three rings while using the correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
Meet with the previous and next Sales Associate to review business needs and any special items.
Promote positive guest relations to all individuals.
Set up work station with necessary supplies, maintain cleanliness throughout the work shift.
Stock inventory and assist with the set up.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings of the sales associate team.
End of day sales reports.
Wear professional attire at all times and ready to perform for the scheduled shift.
Attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, co-workers and managers.
Ensure logging and delivery of all packages and mail in a timely and professional manner.
Review Front office communication and Guest feedback.
Uphold the hotel’s commitment to hospitality.
Assist in other Front Office areas as assigned by Management.
Assist in Special Events as assigned by Management.
Experience:
Proper knowledge of front office and reservation operations.
Previous Customer Service
Strong communication skills, experience handling cash, accounting procedures and general administrative skills.
Impulse-Point Sales System
Windows XP
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Skills:
Effective communication and listening skills.
Capable of working in a fast-paced work environment and perform efficiently under stressful situations.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to sharp objects, slippery floors, smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold. The employee typically comes into contact with water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items. The employee is frequently required to wash hands. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
