What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Roessel Joy?
Roessel Joy has partnered with a healthcare company to hire a Payroll Clerk. Ideally, the candidate would have a union payroll background as was as 1 years of payroll experience. Healthcare experience is a huge plus, but not required. Payroll will be processed in McKesson, but no experience necessary. Looking to fill this role ASAP!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required
- Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Run and build custom reports
- Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices
- Compile a system of administering and distributing reports
- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Eagerness to master new systems
- Efficient in Payroll software
- Previous payroll experience
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Weekly Payroll experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Commission statements experience
- Multi-state payroll experience
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year’ experience in benefits and payroll
- Experience with payroll processing and wage attachment
- Union environment experience preferred
- Familiarity with Windows-based computer programs a must
- Experience with ADP, Ceridian, or other payroll software a plus
- Microsoft Excel Proficient
