Rogue Workforce Partnership (RWP) is a non-profit organization that focuses efforts and investments in the talent needs of employers and in providing equitable access to workforce services and training programs for youth and adults throughout the Rogue Valley, including Jackson and Josephine Counties.

ROLE OUTLINE

The Business Services Program Coordinator is a key leader of the Rogue Workforce Partnership who helps to create a demand-driven system that aligns the skills of workers with the needs of employers while improving career pathway accessibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Business Services

  • Support sector partnerships, WorkSource Business Services, JOBS Business Services and Youth Career Connect programs throughout the entire Rogue Valley.
  • Attend community events on behalf of RWP.
  • Coordinate sector partnership meetings and communicate with sector partners on upcoming events/projects.
  • Coordinate business service-related activities for the region with a focus on the Advanced Manufacturing, Construction, Information Technology/E-Commerce, Health Care, Natural Resources, and Transportation/Logistics sectors.
  • Support provider and community partnership meetings (Business Education Partnership, Oregon Employment Department (OED) and Project Youth Plus (PY ) Business Services Teams, Rogue Business Services Team).
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, both new and existing area businesses, chambers of commerce, human resource associations, education and training partners, industry associations and economic development organizations on an ongoing basis to determine specific workforce needs.
  • Input and manage business contacts and oversee the CRM system.

PROGRAM DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT & OVERSIGHT

  • Support Rogue Business Elevate Program providing on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, customized training services, to meet the needs of area businesses.
  • Report workforce needs and inform responsive program design to meet community need.
  • Support the grant seeking and writing process.
  • Act as Rapid Response Coordinator to support worker dislocation and layoff aversion activities throughout the region.
  • Coordinate employer success story projects for the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

  • Two to five years of experience in workforce development, Business Services, Economic Development, sales, customer service and/or related field.
  • Experience in project and/or contracts management, proficient in project conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.
  • Proficiency in using technology such as online meeting platforms and Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues on a personal computer.
  • Growing significant customer relationships interfacing with executive-level decision makers.
  • Experience in group facilitation, strategic planning, and community development.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training/education which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of public employment and training programs, and related community resources.
  • Private-sector business practices.
  • Business communications tools, methods, and practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

Will be expected to often work at a desk or in meetings for long periods. They should be comfortable sitting at a computer, attending meetings, and standing when necessary. Must have the ability to use computers and other technology devices for various tasks. May need to travel occasionally for meetings with stakeholders, site visits, or conferences. They should be willing and able to travel as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in an office or home office environment. Some travel and fieldwork required. Responsibilities may require work outside of traditional work hours.

DRIVING

This position requires the ability to travel, both within and outside of the service area. Must have a valid Oregon driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with experience, skills, and performance. 55K – 65K

LOCATION

The Rogue Workforce Partnership serves Jackson and Josephine Counties as a region. The position will be a hybrid of in-person and remote work and may travel within the region as needed.
