Job Description Control Systems Engineer Bristol Fulltime Why Rolls-Royce? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Control Systems Engineer in Naval within the Defence business based in Bristol. As a Control Systems Engineer you will work closely within an integrated team across a wide variety of activities focusing on design, integration, validation, and verification of control system solutions for Naval applications against customer requirements. In this role you will help us to continually improve our way of working as we strive to innovate using agile methodologies and Model-Based development. As a key member of the team, you will interface with other Mechanical and Electrical design teams, as well as Naval customers and Ship/ propulsion system integrators. You will develop your skills further utilising both formal training and on-the-job learning to progress. What you will be doing: Integrate solutions across the Mechanical, Electronics and Software disciplines to develop solutions to complex problems. Design and development of Gas Turbine controls systems, ancillaries, and ship interface. Validation and verification using a range of methods from analysis to hardware in the loop testing. Develop new processes, architectures, and ways of working. Continuously improve on the cost and quality of our products. Who we’re looking for: Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a STEM related subject. Curious, self-motivated, and confident to challenge when appropriate Technical problem-solving abilities. Experience of control design, system architecture and system verification vehicles in a relevant industry. Proficient in systems engineering, design, and analysis tools. Desirable but not essential: Model Based Systems Engineering experience. Knowledge of delivering solutions to industry or certification standards.
