What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Specialist position at Roman Empire ABA Services, Inc.?
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Owner and Executive Director, the Collections Specialist is responsible for overseeing collections operations and provide support for the achievement of the organization's mission, goals and objectives. The position is specifically responsible for collections within the office setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Billing Supervisor regarding billing functions in integrated systems
- Accurately submit and/or ensure claims/denial claims are submitted by deadlines
- Oversee client accounts on a regular basis and identify outstanding debts
- Searching each financial statement for any payment inconsistencies or errors
- Collaborate with clients, third party institutions and other members of Billing Department to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors
- Create invoices and billing materials for client funding entity; calculating and tracking various company financial statements/documents
- Proactively determine solutions for handling unique billing/collections situations
- Verify documentation to support billing claims
- Supervise accounts to identify unresolved debts; follow up with funding entity on overdue
accounts
- Investigate historical data for each debt or bill
- Find and contact clients for overdue payments
- Take actions to encourage timely debt payments
- Process payments and refund
- Resolve billing and customer credit issues
- Update account status records and collection efforts
- Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status
- Complete variety of other tasks, as needed.

employee records
- Ability to multi-task

- Ability to maintain moderately complex records and ensure their confidentiality
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
EDUCATION:
4-5 years’ professional experience
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s or Masters preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.87 - $22.73 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
