Operator Local 324
An operator needs to be in the union, have completed the MUST safety system (management union serving together) completed 18 safety modules and a have current drug test. In general, be knowledgeable and safe to work on a large commercial jobsite.
An operator has to have the skill and knowledge from a union apprenticeship or equivalent hands on training to operate any number of basic construction equipment including but not limited to: backhoe, excavator, loader, trencher, bulldozer or telehandler. They must possess the skills to dig a basic hole meeting all OSHA standards and be able to work under supervisors direction and work along with other trades, sometimes directing them in moving materials safely on a jobsite. Should be able to move material around a jobsite safely. Operating a crane, and ability to drive a large commercial truck would be a bonus.
