Position Summary
The Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate at Roosevelt University in Chicago seeks an accomplished real estate leader to serve as the Pasquinelli Family Distinguished Chair of Real Estate, effective Spring 2023.
Chicago has an exceptionally dynamic, strong, and comprehensive real estate industry that is a national leader in real estate transactions and development. Many major industry firms have a presence in the city and support the Institute’s efforts through its Advisory Board, a key element in the Institute’s success.
The real estate program at Roosevelt University is a leader in developing professionals to serve in a wide array of positions in this industry. The University offers a Master of Science Degree in Real Estate, a real estate concentration in the MBA program, an undergraduate major in real estate, and two Graduate Certificates in Real Estate. The Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate also sponsors programs addressing the interests and needs of working professionals in all aspects of the industry and supporting student success.
Successful candidates will have a record of accomplishments suitable for appointment to a senior faculty position. Candidates with a PhD are preferred, but the University will consider individuals with a master’s degree in a related field and significant professional expertise in commercial real estate. Evidence of professional expertise and involvement in the real estate industry is required, and prior experience in professional or collegiate teaching is a plus.
The Pasquinelli Family Distinguished Chair is an endowed non-tenure track position. The initial appointment is for one year, and is renewable depending upon performance. The Pasquinelli Chair will hold a faculty appointment in the Real Estate Department of the Walter E. Heller College of Business. The expected teaching load will be three courses per semester (six classes per year), plus time for industry outreach for someone leaving an active role in the real estate industry to undertake this faculty position. Candidates who are not completely leaving their industry position would have a reduced, two-course-per-semester teaching load (four classes per year) plus time for industry outreach.
Applicants should submit a letter of application addressing their interest and accomplishments in the real estate industry generally and in Chicago specifically, if applicable, as well as how they would use their expertise to advance the University’s leadership in the Chicago real estate market. Qualified candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and the names and contact information for three references to http://jobs.roosevelt.edu.
Direct all inquiries to Professor Thomas Hamilton, Fogelson Distinguished Chair of Real Estate and Chair of the Search Committee for the Pasquinelli Family Distinguished Chair, Chicago School of Real Estate, Roosevelt University.
Screening begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
