What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Operating Room position at Rootstaff?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in the operating room setting
- Assist surgeons and surgical team during procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia administration
- Prepare and maintain sterile field during surgical procedures
- Perform venipuncture and administer medications as needed
- Document patient information, including medical history and progress notes
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Skills:
- Proficient in venipuncture and IV care
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems
- Specialized knowledge in ophthalmology, occupational health, or sonography is a plus
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
-ACLS & BLS Required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
