Job Summary:
This position manages all aspects of planning, design and analysis of all user requests and requirements for implementation, development and support of all imaging including PACS and CVPACS solutions. This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing multiple projects independently. Works with users, vendors and appropriate IS staff to resolve system issues. Determines system specifications and ensures appropriate training programs are developed and implemented. Directs/assists with the installation of software and hardware. Works closely with the Department of Imaging Directors and supervisors in the development of medical imaging initiatives, operational standards, policies, procedures and quality directives. All aspects of this position demand adherence to standard policies and practices including, but not limited to, regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree AND 4 years of healthcare related systems experience OR; Associate's degree AND 6 years of healthcare related systems experience, OR; High school diploma with 10 years of continuous experience and education directly related to the job duties expressed within this document.
Licensure/Certification: CIIP highly recommended within 12 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills: Must have working knowledge of client-server environment, Windows desktop environment, windows and Unix operating systems, networking principles, relational database concepts, DICOM, HL7 and web based application concepts. Must have knowledge of system life cycle development. Must have knowledge of process surrounding system implementation, system support, system testing, project management, and end user support and communication. Must have knowledge and skill of utilizing critical thinking technique in resolving issues. Must possess the ability to translate technical requirements and procedures into well-implemented business solutions. Must have knowledge of current and future changes in the health care industry and the impact of such changes as specific to assignment. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, communication and creativity skills in providing the necessary support of complex Hospital software systems. Skills in the design, testing, Implementation and Integration of HIS/RIS/imaging systems into a cohesive Electronic Medical Record environment. Knowledge of systems support and implementation in a McKesson environment is preferred.
Other: Requires occasional travel to other cities for seminars, professional training, new systems schools, and conferences. Requires frequent personal visits to remote facilities for interviews, and problem determination/resolution. Requires manual dexterity operating a computer keyboard (alpha/numeric keying) and/or spatial device (such as 'Mouse/Track-ball') in fast/efficient manner. Must be able to visually interpret the computer monitor (distinguishing all colors for graphical user interface software) and interact with a variety of computer development software tools. Requires ability to read and comprehend extremely complex technical information both on the computer monitor and on printed material formats. Must be able to engage in telephone conversations with users of computer systems and vendors of Hardware/software (hearing/speaking). Must be able to listen and understand/interpret verbal user communication to gather/develop/discuss application system requirements and accurately record this information for future reference. Must be able to operate audio/visual equipment for system presentations. Must respond to emergency situations such as natural disasters and equipment/power failures and be able to communicate with emergency officers.
