Freight Clerk
PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS)
Responsible to schedule freight shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedules freight
- Quotes freight
- Handles freight claims
- Responsible for inbound and outbound International freight
- Process machine trade-ins
- Tracks freight
- Approves freight invoicing
- Schedules rigging
- Download / freight pictures
- Calls customers and sends shipment details prior to shipping machines
- Updates the large machine production schedule
- Processes customs holds
- Meets with ground and freight carriers regarding contracts and discount structure
- Quote and evaluate new carriers to set up new freight accounts
- Coordinates freight for trade shows
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Education/Training: High School or GED equivalent.
2. Experience/Skills: Good understanding of Freight procedures. Good organizational skills and great attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft office. Good verbal and written communications skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
