We are seeking a growth-oriented dental assistant who works well in a team environment, enjoys taking care of others, has excellent communication skills and strives to improve each day. Our assistants have their own attachment to the doctors’ surgical microscope which is used for all our procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of four-handed dentistry
- Knowledge of patient screening, charting, medical history procedures and documentation
- Strong and effective listening skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills that will allow for one to effectively communicate with patients, co-workers and managers that and provides a pleasant interaction
- Strong teamwork skills to help other team members to keep a cohesive, smooth daily operation
- Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable
- Ability to want to grow and learn more
Responsibilities:
- Pleasant interaction with patients
- Effectively communicate with both the patient and the doctor about any current or on-going symptoms
- Assist doctors during endodontic treatment and surgeries
- Assist with restorative procedures
- Perform routine procedures, including taking x-rays and CBCT scanning
- Documents dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate
- Properly sterilizing treatment rooms and dental equipment
- Set up treatment rooms with proper equipment needed
- Keeping operatories clean and stocked with necessary related items
- Tracking current inventory
- Flexibility to learn non-assisting job duties and responsibilities and willingness to be cross-trained in all practice roles, which include but are not limited to answering incoming patient calls, registering new patients and handling dental insurance claims.
- Proficiency with general computer skills and typing are needed, as the office is completely digital and contemporaneous note taking is required.
Qualifications:
- Dental Assisting: 1 year previous experience (Preferred) or recent certificate of program completion
- High school diploma (Required)
- Will train to perform all expected duties within our practice environment
- Candidate for position should be dependable, able to multitask, have excellent customer service skills and a great work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
