Utility Technician I

Duties:
- Assist in the control and maintenance of conveying equipment and wastewater systems using hand tools and lubricating equipment
- Take samples of raw materials for analysis
- Load trucks with fly ash from ash silo and wastewater from storage
- Shovel coal and limestone spillage onto conveyors
- Start and stop pumps and adjust valves of ash system
- Assist in inspection, maintenance and repair of the coal handling system
- Operate heavy equipment with blades, winches and buckets to load, push or transport coal to the coal handling system
- Drive, load and unload trucks
- Abide by all plant operating procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all plant safety and housekeeping rules and regulations

Skills:
- Must possess a high degree of mechanical and process control aptitude
- Must be able to use algebra, geometry and shop math skills
- Experience operating bulldozers, backhoes, and other heavy machinery
- Proficiency in using power tools for various tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.02 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
