Purpose
Supports the development, implementation and administration of pay structures, policies, programs and practices including base pay, salary administration, wage and salary surveys, job descriptions and evaluations, salary/market pricing analysis, and incentive or pay-for-performance programs. Assists with a variety of analytical-based tasks to ensure the compensation practices, strategies, programs, and policies/procedures are both compliant and competitive. Supports all compensation and salary planning initiatives including market research and analysis, internal equity analysis, annual merit review administration including ad-hoc studies and/or projects. Supports on-going administrative processes, enhances department efficiency and improves current practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers compensation policies and programs
- Reviews compensation-related structures, programs, policies, and practices, and recommends changes to ensure Roseburg’s overall strategy remains current and competitive
- Analyzes compensation related issues for internal equity
- Participates in compensation surveys for job matching and analysis, benchmarking and market pricing
- Coordinates, administers, and analyzes annual compensation cycle
- Converts compensation-related data into meaningful reports for key internal stakeholders
- Provide guidance on specific compensation issues that are informed by market, compliance requirements, and company practices
- Analyzes market data for competitive local job pricing
- Reviews U.S. and Canada compensation data and practices to ensure policies and programs are consistent with Company compensation philosophy
- Maintains an awareness of external trends and best practices
- Conducts special compensation projects as requested
- In coordination with Compensation Manager, ensure all compensation programs and practices remain in compliance with federal, state, local law
- Assists managers and Human Resources team with the design and content of job descriptions, including creating and/or reviewing new and revised job descriptions for content
- Maintains or establishes job title consistency throughout organization where appropriate
- Evaluates finalized job descriptions to determine FLSA status and salary range classifications
- Provides guidance and support to managers and Human Resources team in navigating the HRIS system as needed
- Creates and manages position titles and job codes in HRIS system
- May serve as company trainer on compensation or HRIS system topics
- May assist with federal and state reporting

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in dealing with confidential information

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years’ experience in compensation analysis
- Experience in administering compensation or Human Resources in Canada
- Experience using the latest compensation analysis tools
- Experience with job analysis/evaluation
- Experience in Kronos/ Workforce Ready HRIS system
