Purpose
Oversee operations and strategic maintenance planning for multiple Roseburg Cogeneration operations and steam generating sites (Steam & Energy Plants) located throughout the United States. This includes overseeing outside power sales, contracts, natural gas consumption, hog fuel consumption, long term strategic capital planning, outage planning, annual budgeting as well as environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Bottom line results for a multi-boiler / multi-turbine operation at multiple facilities. Power generation up to 60 MW and Steam generation over 1.1 MPPH used for power generation and facility process consumption.
- Direct oversite of 80 team members with an annual operating budget of $60MM.
- Responsible for revenue generation of $20MM to the grid in power sales, $7MM to the facilities in power sales and $9MM to the facilities in steam sales.
- Sets operations directions and standards for safe and efficient working environments
- Directs annual reporting and as necessary to FERC, EIA and NERC for all power generation sites
- Bottom line responsibility for Contracts and Sales of Renewable Energy Credits and Thermal Renewable Energy Credits (WREGIS accounting) for a revenue generation of $2MM.
- Identify and executes operating standards to all sites
- Direct plant teams to achieve bottom line results
- Executes standardize training for Roseburg’s Steam & Energy Plants
- Responsible for bottom line budget and accounting for operations
- Provide direction with execution of EAM/CMMS amongst plants
- Assist facilities in identifying common essential PM and breakdown maintenance
- Direct teams for Conduct Cause for Loss Audits
- Monitor biomass fuel supplies
- Provide reporting of Natural Gas trends to include consumptions and pricing
- Review operational procedures and policies
- Employ continuous improvement methodologies and statistical process control to increase overall performance on a sustainable basis
- Ensure Steam & Energy Plants are following all federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations and in compliance with permitted levels
- Provide direction and oversite of power generation operations teams for bottom line results that impact multiple facilities and power export to the power grid
- Provide leadership and approve annual Capital Plans for all power generation facilities (electrical generation facilities, and steam generation facilities)

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degree and 10 years of Boiler/Power generation experience or an equivalent amount of training/education and experience
- 7 years of Operations or Engineering Leadership
- Demonstrated safety mindset to operations
- Excellent organizational & analytical skills
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven ability to cultivate a teamwork type environment
- Exhibit a high degree of accountability
- Demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm in implementing change and drive continuous process improvement
- Demonstrated Capital Improvement Project Leadership
- Travel 30-40%
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant degree
- 15 years of Boiler / Power generation experience
- 10 years of Boiler / Power generation Leadership
- Professional Engineer License
