POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator will maintain and administer the company’s networked system of computers and servers. The Systems Administrator will install and troubleshoot hardware and software error by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values.  The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. 

1. Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
2. Installs and upgrades computer components and software, manages virtual servers, and integrates automation processes.
3. Troubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
4. Performs or delegates regular backup operations and implements appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
5. Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
6. Responsible for support and maintenance of company backup storage solutions. Ensures the ability to recover all data and systems in the event of a disaster.
7. Provides technical support when requested from the Help Desk IT Technicians team.
8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s degree in information technology or a related program required.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related program preferred.
• 2 years of related system administration experience.
• Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.

Skills:

Language:

• Able to read, reason, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
• Able to respond to common inquiries from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of our business community in a professional manner.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

• Able to apply advanced math concepts related to finance.
• Able to develop budgets and track budget expenditures.

Computer:

• Ability to perform advanced computer and server administration and support.

Abilities:

• Able to achieve company goals by developing and adhering to standards and process management through a hands-on-approach as a team player.
• High level of organization, time-management skills, and self-discipline.
• Highly motivated and analytical individuals with acute attention to detail.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to work well with minimal supervisor and in a team environment.

Driving- license: Driving company vehicle at times may be required for travel between sites.

Driving- Own Vehicle: Diving own vehicle at times may be required for travel between sites, tradeshows, trainings, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.

Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally: As needed to support department needs.

Travel- Local: N/A

Travel- Overnight: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or training.

Travel- Prolonged Periods: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or training.
