What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor - Warehouse - 1st shift position at Rosina Food Products?
Will be extremely familiar with the Company’s products and production activities. Shall understand production capabilities and plant scheduling. Will utilize this knowledge in anticipating material arrivals and proper storage. Will also be responsible for staging raw materials stored in the warehouse for production. Will work closely with our Supply Planners/Operations staff in this effort.
- Responsible for the active management and maintenance of the Company’s warehouse management system. Will also be responsible for working with the Company’s ERP system (QAD) to ensure that all warehouse and inventory transactions are processed accurately. Will also ensure that all internal audit and controls are adhered to as they relate to warehousing operations.
- To manage all Associate matters in a fair and consistent manner. Will be responsible for employment decisions, developing and training Associates, appraising them based on expectations and performance. Will coordinate any discipline activity with the Human Resources Department. Will approve all PTO requests and actively engage Associates in participating in activities and projects that will improve department effectiveness.
- Will actively monitor inventory levels and age of packaging inventory and raw materials in light of the anticipated production demands. Will coordinate production plans and material requirements with both the Supply Planning and Procurement functions.
- Assist in the development of the tools necessary to more effectively manage the function. Will make recommendations, as appropriate to improve efficiency, effectiveness or reduce costs.
- Will actively participate the Company product shuttling program with our transportation partner. Will schedule and coordinate all necessary shipments between company locations and third party warehouses.
- Responsible for cycle counting of inventory and will actively participate in any inventory verification with internal or external organizations. Will be required to follow up on and explaining adequately any and all inventory discrepancies.
- To ensure that housekeeping and all equipment utilized in the warehouse is in acceptable condition. Will manage equipment maintenance program for equipment and responsible for the generation of maintenance work orders for repairs to other equipment or building when required.
- Will actively participate in any food safety or other food safety related audits. Will be required to maintain accurate records regarding the various parameters required by the Company’s Quality Assurance department.
- Actively manage the safety programs in place under areas of responsibilities. Will ensure that equipment safety checks are adequately performed and that safe operations and practices are enforced. Will actively participate in the Company safety effort as required.
- Will participate as an active member of the Logistics and Warehouse Management group.
- Will participate in special projects as needed by the department or delegated by the Senior Manager – Logistics & Warehousing or the Director – Supply Chain
Qualifications:
- 2 year degree and 1 year Supervisory experience or 3 years of relevant experience as a Supervisor in a warehouse environment.
- Must have experience in the operation of all power industrial fork-lifts in their work area to ensure proper handling of products.
- Solid Understanding of food grade warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Must have strong knowledge with QAD, MES and other supporting programs.
- Knowledgeable of Departmental polices & procedures and must be able to enforce them.
- Must have good logic and decision making skills.
- Attendance must be in good standing.
Physical Requirements:
This position is full time, at least 40 hours per week. Overtime maybe required on occasion. Must be available any day of the week including weekends. Exposure to extreme cold conditions may occur during working in the freezer areas. The nature of this position requires bending, lifting up to 100 lbs., walking, pushing and pulling heavy equipment up to 100 lbs. Incumbent must be able to navigate through our computerized inventory systems.
