What are the responsibilities and job description for the Before and After School Lead Counselor position at Round Lake Area Park District?
The Round Lake Area Park District is hiring program counselors for our Before and After School care program. Our program starts in mid-August and runs through the school year. Typical hours are 7-9 am and/ or 2:30-5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Hour may vary on days when school is not in session. We offer additional care on those days. Approximately 15-20 work hours available per week.
The program counselor will work with children ages 5-12 years old. The counselor will greet the children and lead age appropriate activities while in our care. Some activities include daily homework help, arts and crafts, group games, and outdoor activities.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the ability to lead and oversee the daily activities. Must enjoy interacting with children. Strong communication skills with both children and adults. High school diploma or associate degree preferred and one year experience working with children.
