What does a Rouse Director of Environmental Services do?

• Assure housekeeping, floor care, and laundry objectives and standards are met and maintained.
• Complete staffing schedules and assign staff with daily/weekly assignments.
• Ensure all employees receive appropriate orientation and training.
• Perform quality assurance audits to ensure infection control standards and State and Federal regulatory compliance is met.
• Participate in Infection prevention, QAPI, and safety programs
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures, problem resolution, facility planning, budgeting, and all other management functions of the department.
• Provide support to and work cooperatively with each team member and fill in to perform departmental tasks as needed.
• Provide adequate training for all employees in all pertinent Housekeeping and Laundry policies and procedures, and maintain records of such training.
• Enhances Housekeeping & Laundry department by working together as a team to accept ownership for tasks while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What are the requirements to be a Director of Environmental Services at the Rouse?

• Associates Degree in Hospitality or other related discipline preferred. Certification in Institutional Housekeeping and Laundry Management recommended.
• With degree or certification, minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a long-term care or other healthcare environment.
• In lieu of degree or certification, must have High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a long-term care or other healthcare environment with a minimum of 3 years working in Housekeeping/Laundry.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
