What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Keeper position at Rouse Estate?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive and follow Grounds Keeping schedule/instruction from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, etc. as necessary/directed.
Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing grounds keeping service.
Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to your supervisor immediately.
Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.
Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to your supervisor immediately.
Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc. as approved.
Assure that the facility grounds and equipment are properly maintained for patient comfort and convenience.
Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of day, etc.
Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., grease/oil spills, equipment, etc. to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times.
Other related duties as may become necessary or as may be directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all equipment including, lawn mowers, trimmers and weed trimmers.
Assist in the training of new personnel or equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in all areas of the Estate.
Sitting, standing, bending, and lifting/moving intermittently during working hours.
Subject to frequent interruptions.
Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when necessary.
Subject to cuts, bruises, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.
Attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
Subject to infectious diseases, substances, contaminated articles, odors, etc. throughout the work day.
Subject to reactions from dust, grass clippings, ivies, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.
Communicates with nursing personnel and other department personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED
Experience: Must posses a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary : $21,700 - $27,500
