What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Staff Accountant position at ROUTEONE?
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures. This individual will compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documents business transactions. This person also maintains established accounting control policies and procedures in daily activities, compiles information to prepare and present executive-level reports, produces reports, and assists Accountants with special projects as necessary.
Job Requirements
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare timely entries to general ledger accounts.
- Plays a key supporting role for the month-end close process in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations, analyzes general ledger accounts, and prepares monthly variance analysis.
- Compiles and prepares forecasts and budgets.
- Investigates and prepares explanations of account variances.
- Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies and procedures.
- Analyzes data and trends and prepares reports as needed.
- Maintains safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of accounting functions and principles.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel (i.e. VLookup and pivot tables), and Outlook.
- Experience with Workday Financial a plus, but not required.

Other Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance and Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- 1 years of public accounting experience preferred
