Position Overview
Our Oakland, California office is seeking a candidate with a strong knowledge of human health risk assessment or toxicology with an ability to support Principal Risk Assessor/Toxicologist in preparing human health risk assessments in various regulatory programs across the United States and performing exposure assessments and causation assessments related to exposure to various toxicants.
A Technical Director brings significant consulting experience, technical skills, leadership ability, and established client relationships. This position will require successful selling and consulting to clients for human health risk assessments. Specific requirements are provided below.
Position Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, environmental health, toxicology or related health science discipline
- Ability to interpret and assess quality of genotoxicity tests, animal carcinogenicity models and epidemiological data
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to fine detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to describe complex technical topics and analyses in human health risk assessments, expert reports, and other demonstratives
- Ability to handle multiple project assignments and meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Access
- Background in statistics
- Ability to generate annual net revenue exceeding $200k per year at 20% profit
Preferred
- At least 2 years of pertinent professional experience
- Knowledge of R or SAS preferred
- Experience with implementing human health risk assessments in accordance with USEPA’s Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund or other pertinent state regulatory criteria
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Essential Duties
- Preparing human health risk assessments
- Managing environmental data
- Analyzing large datasets and conducting statistical analyses
- Reviewing and interpreting various types of toxicological and epidemiological studies
- Preparing written documents and demonstratives
- Work with Risk Management Director and other Roux Principals to develop and execute a marketing/sales plan to sell your technical services
