What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Research Analyst position at Rowan College of South Jersey?
The Junior Research Analyst provides programming and data collection support for information requests and data analyses for decision support, strategic initiatives, and external reporting requirements. The Jr. Research Analyst will be responsible for updating queries as reporting requirements change to maintain data quality and will assist with the maintenance of the office’s SQL Data Warehouse, data dashboards, and data visualizations. The Jr. Research Analyst will assist with the completion and submission of mandated/compliance reports/surveys and may also assist with institution wide surveys.
Travel will be required, as this position will work on both the Gloucester and Cumberland Campuses.

- Provides support for the reporting of accurate data to state, federal, and other external agencies, and organizations, such as SURE, NJIPEDS, and IPEDS.
- Develops documentation and scripts to validate data accuracy and consistency in data collection and reporting efforts.
- Analyzes and interprets data to produce reports, fact sheets, graphic presentations, and summaries.
- Develops data visualizations in the form of tables, charts, dynamic graphics, and automated dashboards.
- Maintains and updates dashboards.
- Receives and responds to ad hoc data requests from faculty, administrators, and staff in conjunction with senior staff.
- Updates the College’s fact sheets and the IR Office’s website.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- Associate degree in math, statistics, data analytics, computer science or related field
- One year of related work experience.
- Strong quantitative skills
- Familiarity with relational databases and data retrieval.
- Computer programming skills required; experience with SQL preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, extraordinary attention to detail, solid proofreading skills,
- Ability to prioritize workflow and multi-task, adherence to deadlines and to ethical and legal standards in institutional research.
- Ability to travel to multiple educational institutions, utilizing personal vehicle for
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours, including nights and weekends, to meet department and College needs
- Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners
