Located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state’s largest city and its Capitol. Rowan County is made up of more than 20 departments and nearly 1,250 employees that are committed to providing a wealth of services to County residents and businesses.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Custodial Worker at the Department of Social Services. This position sweeps, mops, and scrubs floors, dusts; vacuums; empties trash; orders cleaning supplies, cleans restrooms; assists with security duties and provides support to the Security Officer position; assists the shred contractor.
Requires working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; skill in handling mechanical equipment related to custodial care; the ability to follow oral instructions; and ability to recognize safety hazards and respond quickly and appropriately, to include directing other to safety when needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent and janitorial experience preferred. Driver’s license is required.
Starting Salary $29,000—$31,900. Excellent benefits package available.
