The County is currently accepting applications for the position of SOCIAL SERVICES DEPUTY DIRECTOR. This position involves highly responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, and managing agency quality assurance and training for DSS employees under the direction of and through delegation from the Social Services Director. Positions requires a great deal of independent judgment, accountability, creativity, and initiative based upon Federal and State statutes, policies and regulations, and County policies and directives; including but not limited to: overseeing quality assurance for DSS; overseeing training throughout DSS; primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of agency-wide Standard Operating Procedures; primarily responsible for coordinating and tracking audits throughout the department; analyzing workflow of the department; tracking and providing reports to the Social Services Director on performance measures regarding areas assigned; supervising and directing subordinates and evaluating work performance; and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal fiscal and personnel regulation; and maintains confidentiality.
Requires thorough knowledge management principles, techniques, and practices; knowledge of the agency’s organization, operation, and objectives and applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations; extensive knowledge of child welfare law, policy, and practices, including supervision in child welfare; thorough knowledge of child welfare data sources and using data to drive training and practice improvements; extensive knowledge of County personnel and budgetary rules, regulations, and procedures; ability to exercise sound judgement in analyzing situations and making decisions; and skill in organizing workflow and coordinating activities.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Public Administration and four years of social work experience, two years of which were in a supervisory or management capacity; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of work related experience, two years of which were in a supervisory or management capacity or equivalent combinations of educations and experience. Child welfare quality assurance and/or training experience preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Starting Salary $94,200 - $103,600/annual (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, 401K, flexible spending, paid holidays, employee discounts, and more.
