Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner and Scheduler to join our dynamic furniture manufacturing company. As a vital member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes, timely delivery of products, and optimal resource utilization. Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement, and manufacturing, to create production plans that align with customer orders, company goals, and available resources.
Analyze sales forecasts, historical data, and market trends to determine production requirements and establish production schedules.
Optimize production plans to balance inventory levels, minimize lead times, and reduce production costs.
Scheduling and Coordination
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, considering factors such as machine availability, labor capacity, and material availability.
Coordinate with department supervisors and team leaders to allocate resources effectively and ensure seamless production flow.
Monitor real-time production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to adjust schedules as needed.
Inventory Management
Regularly assess inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to prevent shortages or excess stock.

Collaborate with procurement to establish optimal inventory levels and manage inventory turnover.
Capacity Planning
Evaluate production capacities and capabilities to determine if any expansion, adjustments, or improvements are necessary to meet future demands.
Participate in discussions related to investment in new equipment, machinery, or technologies to enhance production efficiency.
Communication and Reporting
Provide clear and concise production schedules and status updates to relevant stakeholders, including operations management, sales, and customer service teams.
Generate regular reports on production performance, adherence to schedules, and any issues impacting production timelines.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in production planning and scheduling.
Collaborate with the operations team to implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize production processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Ability to work as liaison between various departments.
Proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, preferably in furniture or a related industry.
Proficiency in using production planning and ERP software for scheduling and resource allocation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage unexpected changes and challenges.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
