As a Purchasing Manager within our organization, you will be an integral part of our procurement team responsible for acquiring goods and services crucial to our operations. Your role will involve sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.
Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors while maintaining a robust supplier base. Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
2. Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, prices, terms, and agreements with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and service conditions.
3. Purchase Order Management: Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of goods and services.
4. Cost Analysis and Savings: Conduct cost analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize procurement costs without compromising quality.
5. Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to monitor stock levels and ensure adequate inventory while minimizing excess.
6. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain.
7. Supplier Performance Evaluation: Monitor supplier performance metrics, address issues, and drive continuous improvement in supplier quality and delivery.
8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments (operations, finance, logistics) to align procurement activities with business objectives and needs.
9. Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and new procurement strategies to make informed decisions and suggest improvements.
10. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies in all purchasing activities
11. Develop project plans that include scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
12. Coordinate project activities and ensure that all stakeholders are aware of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
13. Monitor project progress and identify any potential issues or roadblocks, making recommendations to management for solutions.
14. Manage project budgets, ensuring that all project activities are conducted within budgetary constraints.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement management, sourcing, and supplier management
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on price and contract terms
- Familiarity with fabricating processes and materials sourcing
- Proficiency in supply chain operations and logistics
- Knowledge of Contract Negotiation and Procurement Management practices
