Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, fire log, and fire-building products. In addition, the Company also manufactures railroad cross ties, which strengthens our relationship with our suppliers in the charcoal business. Given the recent acquisition of the new business segment of Pine Mountain and Diamond brands, many changes are in process at the company, requiring enhanced leadership.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, stick and mig welding, cutting torch, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), along with the ability to read wiring schematics.
  • Well versed in standard safety practices procedures in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Higher education/certification in related field work is preferred.
  • Technical capacity

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift & carry approximately 75 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental temperatures
  • Casual manufacturing environment; Comfortable attire appropriate for manual labor environment
  • Typical manufacturing environment with concrete floors and moving equipment
