Job Description

  • Assist teacher in providing small group and individual instruction.
  • Assist teaching personnel in all areas of their work.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment, ie, copy machines, video equipment, typewriters, computers, recorders, etc.
  • Assist individual students in teacher-monitored classrooms.
  • Assist in maintaining the general orderliness of the gymnasium and play equipment.
  • Assist teacher in monitoring individual student objectives.
  • Provide for student’s safety.
  • Provide activities and instruction for this and other students as planned by the teacher.
  • Assist with maintaining discipline.
  • Collaborate with PE Teacher to teach lessons in the gymnasium and/or athletic fields.
  • Perform outside supervision of students as necessary.
  • Assist students in other classes as necessary.
  • Educational assistant will be responsible to the building principal.
  • Other related duties as assigned by building principal.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate, or GED.
  • AA degree, or 48 semester credits or 72-quarter credits from an institution of higher education, or having successfully passed the Washington State Academic Assessment Praxis II Para Pro Test (WASST).
  • Dependable, trustworthy, experience working with children and adults, good time manager, initiative
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Must meet state requirements for Covid 19 vaccination or an exemption to the Covid 19 vaccination as a condition of employment by the first day of work

 

Terms of Employment

Starting Date:  22-23 SY                                               

Salary:  Per 22-23 PSE Salary Schedule

Hours:  6.75 hrs/day – 8:00 am – 3:15 pm

Location:  Royal Intermediate School
