Qualifications:
- Current in state License as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required.
- 1 year nursing experience.
- 6 Months General dialysis experience.
JOB FUNCTION:
- Performs dialysis treatments in accordance with approved facility policies and procedures as well as regulation set forth by the company, state and federal agencies.
- Prior to initiation of dialysis, ensures dialysis machine, its alarms, and all products used during treatment are prepped and meet quality standards.
- The Dialysis Registered Professional Nurse performs all procedures of dialysis and related patient care and participates in the training program for home dialysis and self-care under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
- The Dialysis Registered Professional Nurse provides chronic dialysis care and treatment, training and education; evaluates patients, communicates with physician and other members of the care team to interpret, adjust, and complete patient care plans; teaches skills, techniques, and procedures; and assists in research studies.
- Complete and document monthly review of patient medication profiles and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
- Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary team in all required patient assessment and care planning activities.
- He/she is also responsible for understanding, supporting, interpreting, and implementing the philosophy and policies of the corporation.
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment.
- Supervising dialysis techs.
