Position Title: Laboratory Assistant (Accessioning / Client Services)
Position summary:
Individual must be able to receive clinical samples, review paperwork and log all information in the laboratory database.
The individual must be able to address any issues with the paperwork received and resolve all problems with the doctors or clients.
The individual in this position may be required to perform certain laboratory tasks related to non-clinical testing such as environmental services, taking temperatures, and readying reagents for testing.
The individual in this position MUST have strong communication skills.

Tasks:
· Sample accessioning and paperwork review
· Resolution of all problems associated with received samples – clearing samples for processing
· Ability to coordinate with management to resolve client issues
· Laboratory related Client Services
· Assist staff in cases as needed.
· Follow strict safety procedures when handling toxic materials to avoid contamination.
Skills:
· Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
· Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
· Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
· Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Reporting and Authority:
· The Laboratory Assistant position answers directly to the Lead Laboratory Assistant.
· The Laboratory Assistant position has the authority access computers and systems for which passwords have been given.
· The Laboratory Assistant position does not have the authority to load or remove software from any RTL computer or to place unauthorized software on an RTL computer.
Authority Overview (Includes but not limited to the following)
· This position has the authority to accept and accession samples.
· This position has the authority to contact client physicians and patients.
· All work conducted by the Laboratory Assistant must be reviewed by the Lead Laboratory Assistant or designee.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
