Hiring Full Time Financial Specialist
HYBRID: remote and some days in office in Lakeland, FL
Our company is hiring a financial specialist to oversee data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They will also perform daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and authorizing payments and adjustments.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the bank accounts daily and process regular bank deposits
- Deposit physical checks, process credit card transactions and track Stack Pay, and Stripe credit card and Echecks deposits daily
- Write checks and schedule payments for bills and timely match invoices to policy and posting to general ledger chart of accounts
- Monitor and authorize accounts receivable, accounts payable and direct deposits
- Monthly credit card reconciliation and receipt collection
- Prepare monthly billing for all affiliates. Process all affiliate invoice payments monthly and maintain AR reports.
- Prepare, submit and reconcile bi-weekly payroll and annual W-2’s via vendor
- Yearly preparation of IRS Form 1099 for all contractors and preparation of annual tax return
- Prepare annual audit and workers compensation audit
- Renew documentation/fees/application for City, County, Dept. of Agriculture, Dept. of Economic Opportunity, Division of Corporation, Sales Tax exemption, Workers Compensation and Resale Tax license
- Manage 401k program
- Assist Treasurer and Executive Director in developing the annual budget for review and approval by the Board of Directors and membership
- Attend necessary meetings as assigned
- Process and approve grant applications as needed
- Other assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related degree to accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience
- Proficiency with Quickbooks or other accounting software, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, databases, calendar software, and ability to learn new software applications quickly - A few days a week required in office in Lakeland, FL
- Occasional weekend work
- Some occasional travel requirements as directed by supervisor
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. with or without assistance
Benefits:
- Salaried position: $50-70k based on experience
