Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. This position will support the Finance Manager in maintaining financial accuracy and provide insights for operational and financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant will work across departments to ensure that financial transactions are correctly recorded, and reports are accurate and timely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze and provide variance explanations for financial statement discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the audit process.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP) and company policies.
• Support tax compliance efforts and regulatory filings.
• Lead special projects aimed at improving financial processes and reporting.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
• 2-3 years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial reporting in a multi-entity organization.
